Why Organizations Work with RaffertyWeiss for Animation and Motion Graphics

25 Years of Proven Results
We have produced animation and motion graphics for AARP, Amtrak, Fannie Mae, Pepco, DoD, CDC, Democracy Fund, and Matan Companies. Our work has been recognized by Design Rush and the Telly Awards. We do not pitch animation styles we have never executed - we show you work we have already delivered.
Every Animation Style In-House
2D animation, motion graphics, character animation, whiteboard animation, animated infographics, and data visualization - all produced by our in-house animation team. No outsourcing.
Strategy Before Pixels
Every animation project starts with a clear strategic brief. We define the message, the audience, and the call to action before a single frame is designed.
Built for Complex Subjects
Federal policy, financial products, healthcare procedures, compliance training, technology platforms - we specialize in translating complicated subjects into clear visual storytelling. Our government and nonprofit clients rely on us specifically because we get the content right, not just the look.

Animation and Motion Graphics Services We Offer

We produce every major animation format in-house. Below is a breakdown of the services we deliver most often and the use cases each one is best suited for.
Motion Graphics and Motion Design

Motion graphics are the most versatile format in our animation toolkit. We use motion design to bring data, statistics, processes, and abstract concepts to life - branded typography, animated charts, icon systems, and kinetic text. Ideal for corporate explainers, government policy communications, social media campaigns, and eLearning modules. Our motion graphics work has been produced for Fannie Mae, Pepco, Amtrak, and the Department of Defense.

Explainer Videos and Animated Explainers

We produce animated explainer videos that make complex products, services, and ideas immediately understandable. We build every explainer around a clear narrative structure - problem, solution, proof, call to action. Our explainer video clients include 1Ticket.com, Democracy Fund, and Matan Companies.

2D Animation and Character Animation

Our 2D animation work ranges from simple character-driven stories to fully illustrated animated worlds. Character animation is particularly effective for training content, public outreach campaigns, and brand storytelling where a human face helps audiences connect with the message. We design all characters and environments in-house.

Whiteboard Animation and Educational Animation

Whiteboard animation and educational animation direct viewer attention step by step, making them ideal for compliance training, policy explainers, and instructional programs. Our educational animation work spans federal agencies, associations, and universities.

Animated Infographics and Data Visualization

We transform data, research findings, statistics, and process flows into animated infographics that communicate briefly. Highly effective for annual reports, advocacy campaigns, conference presentations, and social media.

Branded Animation and Social Media Animation

Short-form branded animation for social media, digital advertising, website headers, and event screens. Looping animations, animated logos, social media reels, and platform-optimized content that communicates your message in the first three seconds.

Our Animation and Motion Graphics Production Process

Step 1
Discovery and Strategy
We start by understanding your goals, audience, and message. We define the animation style - motion graphics, 2D animation, whiteboard, or mixed media - based on what will communicate most effectively, not what is easiest to produce.
Step 2
Script Development
Our writers develop a script built around your voice and your audience's needs. For government and compliance content, we follow federal plain language standards. For brand and marketing content, we write for emotional impact and clarity.
Step 3
Storyboarding
We build a detailed storyboard that maps every scene, transition, and visual element before animation begins. You review and approve the storyboard before a single frame is animated.
Step 4
 Animation and Motion Design
Our in-house animators bring the storyboard to life. Motion graphics, character animation, data visualization, or whiteboard animation - every frame is produced by our team.
Step 5
Voiceover and Sound Design
Professional narration, music, and sound effects that enhance emotional impact and reinforce your message. We can produce bilingual content in English and Spanish.
Step 6
Final Delivery
We deliver your animation in the format your project requires - web, social media, broadcast, LMS, internal platforms, or event screens.

Animation and Motion Graphics: Common Questions

Starting an animation production journey is like conducting an orchestra. Every part, from concept to final render, must work in harmony. It’s a delicate dance between art and technology, where imagination forms, frame by frame. From the fun of Saturday morning cartoons to the stunning realism of blockbuster CGI, animation brings visions to life. My years in media production show that the magic lies not just in the final image but in the careful process behind it. Many begin with a great idea, but the complexity can be overwhelming. Without a clear plan, even the best concepts can get lost in technical challenges and creative compromises. This guide will simplify the animation production pipeline, giving creators, producers, and businesses a strategic overview. We’ll look at key stages, highlight important roles, and arm you with the knowledge to navigate this lively industry. Forget the idea that animation is just for kids – it’s a powerful medium for storytelling, education, and brand building in all sectors. Let’s uncover the secrets to successful animation production.

What types of animation does RaffertyWeiss Media produce?

Motion graphics, 2D animation, character animation, whiteboard animation, animated explainer videos, animated infographics, data visualization, and branded social media animation. All animation is produced in-house - we do not outsource to third-party studios.

What is the difference between motion graphics and animation?

Motion graphics use graphic design elements - typography, icons, charts, and shapes - set in motion to communicate information. Traditional animation involves character movement, illustrated environments, and narrative storytelling. We produce both, and often combine them in the same project. The right approach depends on your content, your audience, and your goals.

How long does an animated explainer video take to produce?

A typical animated explainer video takes four to eight weeks from kickoff to final delivery, depending on length, complexity, and revision cycles. We build timelines around your deadlines and communicate clearly at every stage.

What industries does RaffertyWeiss Media produce animation for?

Federal government agencies, Fortune 500 corporations, nonprofits, trade associations, healthcare organizations, and educational institutions. Animation clients include AARP, Amtrak, Fannie Mae, Pepco, the Department of Defense, CDC, and Democracy Fund.

Can RaffertyWeiss Media produce Section 508-compliant animation?

Yes. Closed captioning, audio description, and color contrast compliance are standard in all animation produced for government and healthcare clients. We build accessibility into the production process from day one.

Does RaffertyWeiss Media produce bilingual animation?

Yes. We produce English and Spanish language animated content and have extensive experience with multilingual outreach campaigns for federal agencies and nonprofits.

What makes RaffertyWeiss Media different from other animation companies?

Twenty-five years of experience with some of the most demanding clients in the country - federal agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and major nonprofits. We understand compliance requirements, procurement processes, and the communication standards those clients require. We also produce live-action video, which means we can seamlessly combine animation with filmed footage when the project calls for it. Most animation-only studios cannot do that.

How much does an animated explainer video cost?

Animation costs vary based on style, length, complexity, and revision requirements. Motion graphics projects are generally more efficient to produce than fully illustrated character animation. Contact us to discuss your project and we will give you a clear estimate.
