Aikido Security's Journey (Social)

The Project

Knox Systems, a repeat RaffertyWeiss client, helps cloud software companies reach government customers through FedRAMP. For this customer story, Knox paired Carrie Lee, a member of the Knox Federal Advisory Board, with Mike Wilkes, CISO of Aikido Security, a young Belgian application security company bringing its platform to the public sector. This social version distills their conversation for LinkedIn and other short-form channels.

Our Approach

The piece is built as a peer conversation rather than a scripted testimonial. Carrie brings the government buyer's view, drawing on her time as a FedRAMP sponsor and authorizing official at VA, where she saw how long and difficult authorization could be. Mike brings the vendor's view, having started a FedRAMP package on his own at a previous company.

The exchange covers the points a federal audience cares about:

  • Why going it alone is "a long tough slog," including hurdles like FIPS 140 validation
  • How Knox works, which Mike compares to renting "a FedRAMP authorized apartment in a building" on Knox's authorization
  • Why a cloud-native startup can move onto the platform without major re-architecting
  • How Knox's partner network helps vendors reach federal, state and local buyers

Pairing a former government official with a customer executive gives the story credibility from both sides of the table. The social cut keeps the most quotable moments so the message lands quickly in a feed.
