In an effort to become the nation’s first Do Good Campus, the University of Maryland’s School of Public Policy established the Do Good Institute in September 2016. A campus-wide hub for research, philanthropy, social innovation, and nonprofit leadership, the Do Good Institute inspires the next generation of do good leaders through mentoring, hands-on learning experiences, and a curriculum built on real-world applications.
In 2022 and 2024, the Do Good Institute tapped RaffertyWeiss to produce a series of short videos for its "Change the World" series. “Change the World” is an interactive exhibition on the ground floor of the UMD School of Public Policy that is comprised of four interactive touchscreens where passersby can immerse themselves in life-size, in-depth storytelling. The videos featured in this installation tell the stories of students, faculty, and alumni who are making an impact on campus, in their communities, and across the world.
